1) I work on an iMac G5, but my previous Mac, the old G4 with the 'half-football' stand and moveable screen is now with my stepdaughter and family in Brighton. However, recently the screen went black, and as far as I know it needs a new inverter board everything else works, but you have to shine a torch at the screen! This iMac is now over six years old, is it possiible to get a replacement part for this machine or is it now a 'museum piece' fit for the scrapyard? Hope you can help you come highly recommended.
2) My Macbook Pro is the newsest edition, bought only 3 months ago and used for business. It is still under warrany and the 'up' key has broken (the scissor mechanism under the key has snapped when typing). Can I bring it in for you to replace the key at some point please?
3) Can you repair a Mighty Mouse (Mice?) The scroll ball has been getting less and less responsive for weeks now and it's driving my nuts! Obviously, if this is going to cost more than a certain amount, then I'll probably just treat myself to a Magic Mouse instead
4) iMac keeps switching itself off randomly, and then can't be switched on for 20mins or so. It's not overheating or anything like that, would you think that this is a power supply fault? If so, how much would you charge to fit a new power supply? (It's one of the 1st generation Intel iMacs, the white, flatscreen one).
5) I called you a few weeks ago to enquiry about help with installing windows XP via boot camp ( too scarey for me !) I got a bit busy and didn't follow up , but its for an xmas presie , so I need to get my finger out! I think you said about £50 for your time plus the cost of Windows XP - if you provide the copy of XP how much will it be in total ? Also , as its a pressie it will be hard to explain the mac disappearing for a day. any chance of a home visit.
